The October issue of Renesa is out and we have outdone ourselves once again.

None other than Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam has penned a guest column for Renesa. The theme of this issue is Education and therefore you will find a lot of articles on education and college life in general. College Buzz, this time, deals with some of the recent tragic incidents that have happened and we give our own well thought out suggestions on how to prevent such a thing from happening again. Also do read the cover story, "Whom are we kidding?" and "Mass Bunk"

Walk when you talk features Dr. D.P Vakharia while Dr. S.A Channiwala has written an article for faculty speak. View-Counterview deals with one of the pressing concerns of India, that of its position vis-a-vis China and which of these great Asian nations will out do the other. In Tech, we have a comprehensive review of Google Wave and Amazon Kindle. The second year college rock band, Half Step Down has been interviewed.

SVNIT recently concluded JoyFest, a pan India initiative to help the ones who are not as fortunate as us. We hosted kids from a nearby school for the Differently Abled and had a great time with them. An orchestra from a nearby blind school also performed and the audience cheered for them. We collected INR 14,000 from the joggers who come to the institute daily and used it to help those who really need it. Student donated clothes, shoes, bags, mattresses for the needy. All of this under one umbrella, Joyfest. Do read our coverage of Joyfest in this issue.

The Baja team is at it again and are building their vehicle "Anshumat" despite many set backs. We bring you the story of Ashumat and how these guys are on it despite scant financial backing. For those who thought fines are a pain or that girls' hostel in-time makes no sense, we have both these things covered and have offered suggestions on how to mend the system. The recent fire in h8 too has been covered.

We have a running a poll on the site asking people how many technical fests should be conducted per year. All this started because students have been discussing the same on the college mailing lists.
